About The Position

The Food Systems for Nutrition Innovation Lab (FSN-IL) generates new evidence and disseminates promising technologies and practices supporting the uptake of food system innovations that contribute to improved incomes, diet quality, resilience, and nutrition. In support of the United States Government's Feed the Future initiative on global hunger and food security, FSN-IL facilitates research for development and human and institutional capacity-building activities in low- and middle-income countries. The programs are funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Requirements

• Knowledge and skills as typically acquired by a Bachelor's degree in a related area of study or equivalent.
• 3 - 5 years of professional communications experience.
• Design experience is a must.
• Strong copyediting and writing skills.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree in a related field.
• Experience in nutrition communications and public health in private or non-profit setting.

Responsibilities

• Execute communications strategies that promote the goals and mission of the department, school, research program, or division.
• Develop high-quality, effective print materials and messaging, including researching and writing effective communications pieces.
• Create design and layout of print and digital publications.
• Research, recommend, and implement communications and marketing projects and strategies.
• Develop design and content for a website.
• Develop content and strategies for social media communications.
• Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of communications strategies and recommend changes or improvements.
• Provide guidance to support staff, students, and temporary workers.
• Coordinate work with outside vendors and consultants on projects.

Benefits

• Salary range from $58,750.00 to $88,300.00 based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity.
