About The Position

This is a Communications Services Tax Coordinator - Revenue Program Administrator I - SES position in the General Tax Administration Program (GTA), Tax Law Administration Process. The incumbent serves as a member of the Department’s leadership team and is responsible for operational, technical, legislative, and procedural issues related to the communications services tax (CST), estate tax, and gross receipts tax. The incumbent participates in legislative matters, including concept development, review of draft legislation, preparation of operational impact statements for Executive staff review, and implementation of legislation that has passed. This includes legislation impacting the Clerk of Courts Revenue Remittance System (CCRRS) and distributions required of the Department, as well as all matters related to CST, estate tax, gross receipts tax, and sales and use tax (SUT) holidays and exemptions. The incumbent also serves as the business champion for major communication efforts, such as the publication of bulletins, forms, and instructions to keep taxpayers informed of law changes; responds to questions and inquiries related to CST, estate tax, and gross receipts tax; and assists the Sales and Use Tax Compliance Coordinator as needed.

Requirements

  • Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
  • Five years of experience working with taxes administered by the General Tax Administration Program.
  • Two years of experience as a lead worker or supervisor.
  • Experience writing, editing, and proofing Department of Revenue publications or communications.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products.

  • Experience drafting rules or statutes.
