About The Position

The position is part-time with a requirement of 32 hours per month, including weekends and holidays. The schedule will vary depending on the open hours of the department. The pay range for this position is between $18.50 and $27.75 per hour. The major responsibilities include operating multi-function workstations, paging systems, and emergency hotline devices to facilitate communication in routine and emergency situations. The role also involves maintaining knowledge of department policies, providing communication links between personnel and patients, and arranging repairs for communication devices.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays and occasionally a variety of shifts.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations daily regarding the number and nature of calls received.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to and operates multi-function work stations, paging systems, emergency hotline and alarm devices.
  • Answers, connects, and directs calls to appropriate locations.
  • Facilitates hospital response to emergency situations.
  • Provides communication links between in-house and on-call personnel, patients, and caregivers.
  • Maintains current knowledge of department and Medical Center policies and procedures.
  • Maintains computer and hard copy files of all physician key personnel and on-call personnel.
  • Arranges for the repair of pocket pagers, patient room telephones, and special needs patient telephones.
