The Communications Division operates a 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year statewide emergency communications systems, which includes seven centers. The division provides emergency dispatch services for the Washington State Patrol, and 18 other State, Federal, and Tribal Agencies on contract basis including Department of Fish and Wildlife, Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Board, State Parks, U.S. Marshal and Muckleshoot Tribal Police. A CO2's primary responsibility is to efficiently multi-task technologies answering emergency 911 and business phone calls, entering and updating calls for service and self-initiated activity into a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Computer system and transmitting and receiving radio communications from field personnel. Our new trainer will be able to: Provide on the job training and evaluate new employees in the key work activities. Provide professional customer service using skills learned to manage and control emergency calls. Use resources such as CAD, computer mapping, and access to sensitive databases to provide timely support and service. Consistently provide exceptional customer service. Project a positive attitude, proactively and willingly assist others in performance of their duties or in responding to requests from customers. Earn the trust, respect, and confidence of leadership, co-workers and customers. Analyze, troubleshoot, consult, and document emergencies. Transmit, broadcast, control, and operate multi-frequency two-way radio console. Monitor officer safety status constantly. Apply advanced telecommunicator skills to quickly assess and determine the proper course of action to provide the most efficient and appropriate response during mission critical situations.
