About The Position

The Planning and Facilities Management Communications Manager works across the unit of Planning & Facilities Management (PFM) at Georgetown University to increase awareness, understanding, and connection to PFM projects across the university. The PFM communications manager works with the internal and operations communications team in the Office of Strategic Communications and Office of the Chief Operating Officer to foster an internal culture of transparency and shared understanding. The PFM Communications Manager will design strategic communication plans to effectively communicate university messaging around PFM strategic initiatives and construction projects. They will coordinate with PFM leadership as well as internal stakeholders across the university, to ensure accurate and timely communications of university updates and positions to internal and external audiences. To do this, the PFM communications manager will draft communications from the PFM unit, as well as university leaders, to students, faculty, staff, and the Georgetown community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or related field of study; one to two years of experience in facilities management, public relations, journalism, broadcasting, higher education, non-profit institution or related area
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Good judgment
