The Climate Finance Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in managing communications for a portfolio of philanthropic initiatives aimed at unlocking billions of dollars in sustainable finance to support the transition to net-zero emissions globally. This position is integral to executing integrated communications strategies that support cross-cutting global programs, which coordinate efforts across all sectors of the financial system to accelerate the transition to a net-zero economy. The role will focus on catalyzing decarbonization across heavy-emitting sectors, developing capital market infrastructure, and addressing climate data challenges on a global scale, particularly in emerging markets. In this dynamic environment, the Communications Manager will engage with a diverse range of key partners, including global financial institutions, multilateral development banks, national and regional governments, NGOs, technical partners, and academic institutions. The ideal candidate will thrive under pressure, possess a strong bias toward action, and have a proven track record in media engagement, particularly in climate finance and energy sectors. Experience managing communications for a global coalition or alliance will be considered a strong asset. The role will also involve leading the execution of the strategic communications plan for the GFANZ Secretariat, managing day-to-day media relations, and ensuring seamless coordination among various teams within Bloomberg and Bloomberg Philanthropies. The Communications Manager will be responsible for crisis communications and rapid response, ensuring that the organization’s reputation is effectively managed during critical times.
