About The Position

The OVG Communications intern will play a vital role in supporting the VPs of Communications with a variety of tasks that encompass publicity, media relations, partner relations, internal communications, research, and media monitoring. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to multiple facets of the company, including insights into new business announcements, partnership agreements, and venue development projects. The intern will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and trustworthiness, as they will have access to confidential and non-public information, as well as interactions with all levels of company leadership. Interns will receive hands-on experience in promoting the activities and messages of OVG venues and services, which will involve crafting and disseminating communications on behalf of various teams across the organization. The role is designed to enhance the intern's skills in verbal and written communications, as they will be involved in creating press releases, talking points, pitch documents, media alerts, and email blasts. Additionally, the intern will assist in preparing PowerPoint presentations and other materials that support the communications efforts of the company. The internship is structured to provide valuable learning experiences, including conducting research to support internal clients. This research will focus on editorial calendars, targeted journalists and outlets, and industry awards, leading to the development of planning calendars, press lists, and coverage reports. The intern will also assist with event preparations, including managing lists and invitations, and will help with site updates on platforms like Treehouse and Sharepoint. Light administrative support, such as scheduling meetings and tracking projects, will also be part of the intern's responsibilities.
