About The Position

Onground Associates Degree Instructor OAAS Instructor - Communications Ross Education Holdings, Inc. Hopkinsville, AL - In Person at Campus Adjunct Instructor - General Education Courses - Associates Degree Program - We're seeking a Communications OAAS Instructor for our degree program students. This will be part time unscheduled when the classes are offered. Our General Education courses compliment the Occupational coursework our students have already completed, and are still growing in. If you have a degree and relevant work experience in Communication, Psychology, Sociology, Biology, Lifespan, Counseling, Ethics, Critical Thinking, Philosophy or other relevant Liberal Arts or Science degree, these teaching opportunities may be a fit for you. We are looking for Instructors to further train and develop our students for careers in allied health positions. The OAAS Instructor work under the direction of the Program Director (PD), with support from the Associate Director (AD). Instructors teach students the proper curriculum, prepare lesson plans and progress reports, work additional time with students, order supplies, and perform related work as required. Instructor must support meeting accreditation and Ross policy at all times, displaying an attitude of zero tolerance toward non-compliance in student record keeping and policy enforcement.

Requirements

Instructors of General Education Courses must possess one of the following:
A Master's Degree in the subject matter discipline, a Bachelor's Degree in the subject matter discipline, or a Bachelor's Degree with 18 credit hours of education in specific courses being taught.
Ability to communicate effectively in classroom and individual settings
Must have sufficient ability to stand for extended periods of time, move around the building and classroom to satisfy student needs and/or facilitate student participation. Knowledge of materials (subjects) that will be taught to students and ability to use and communicate Ross curriculum

Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, learning management systems (LMS) for attendance and student records
Ability to adapt quickly and keep focus through accelerated program time-frame

Responsibilities

Teaches course work as it applies to the appropriate curriculum
Utilizes contemporary teaching strategies and practices; such as instructional resources through guest speakers, field trips, videos, overhead transparencies, Instructor's Resource Manual, lecture, and handouts to enhance the learning process
Accurately records student daily attendance
Holds conferences with students on an as-needed basis
Maintains classroom in good physical order and equipment in good repair
Enters classroom at designated time with all necessary materials. Begins and ends class at scheduled times
Actively participates to promote student retention
Prepares weekly lesson plans according to standardized curriculum
Corrects students' assignments and tests; reviews results and returns them promptly
Accurately records grades, attendance, successful completion of proficiencies; entering information in campus management software
Works additional time weekly, as announced, for individual student needs outside the classroom
Cooperates with lab schedules
Orders supplies and forms when needed and puts them away in proper location
Completes a minimum of two professional growth (aka, professional development) and two effective teaching training (formerly known as in-service training) activities each fiscal year
Completes an Instructor Professional Development Plan (IPDP) each year
Attends formal and informal faculty/staff meetings
Informs PD and/or AD immediately of unsatisfactory academic student progress, discipline or attitude problems, and occurrences that warrant discussion
Schedules and conducts visits for approval of new student externship sites and completes student externship follow-up calls
Under direction of RCD, AD and/or Lead Faculty, provides additional support to students on probation or mid-progress warning
Attends quarterly faculty meetings to discuss classroom concerns, student issues, and curriculum development and assessment
Participates in school events regarding student retention and placement
Performs related work as required
