About The Position

The program requires a Voice Communications and COMSEC Engineer to support mission planning and execution activities across distributed and deployed environments. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining voice communication architectures, including development of communication matrices, net planning, and configuration of voice systems and interfaces. In addition, the position supports COMSEC management functions to ensure secure handling of keying material, system compliance, and accountability. The individual will operate in dynamic, time-sensitive environments and provide critical support to ensure reliable and secure voice communications during mission execution.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent experience), with 2-4 years experience; MS with 0-2 years.
  • Demonstrated experience with voice communication planning (networks, matrices, routing).
  • Demonstrated experience with voice matrix systems and panel configuration.
  • Demonstrated experience with DS0 and T1 circuit configuration and integration.
  • Experience supporting deployed or distributed communication environments.
  • Must possess and maintain an active SECRET or higher clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with COMSEC account management and handling of keying material.
  • Familiarity with NSA COMSEC policies and procedures.
  • Experience with firmware management and system compliance for COMSEC equipment.
  • Prior support to DoD test ranges, mission execution environments, or tactical operations.
  • Ability to operate in time-sensitive, mission execution environments.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and implement voice communication architectures in support of mission execution and test events.
  • Develop and maintain voice communications matrices to define routing, net structure, and user access across distributed sites.
  • Plan and configure voice nets, including assignment of circuits, users, and operational roles.
  • Determine and coordinate voice connectivity requirements for deployed and remote locations.
  • Configure and maintain voice matrix systems, including hardware panels and software-based control interfaces.
  • Establish and manage DS0 and T1 circuit interfaces to support voice transport and integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Program and configure hardware panels and soft panels, including remote configuration and updates.
  • Troubleshoot voice communication issues during planning, integration, and execution phases, including real-time support during operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Manage COMSEC accounts and associated responsibilities, including inventory control, audits, and reporting.
  • Perform COMSEC key management activities, including requesting, handling, loading, and safeguarding keying material (keymat).
  • Maintain compliance with applicable COMSEC policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct COMSEC transfers, destruction, and accountability tracking in accordance with governing guidance.
  • Maintain and update COMSEC equipment firmware and ensure systems remain compliant with current standards.
  • Support inspections and audits by ensuring documentation, logs, and procedures are complete and up to date.
