About The Position

Reporting to the VP of Communications, the ideal candidate will develop and execute a media relations strategy that raises awareness for IAS in the U.S. and throughout the Americas, enhances our corporate reputation, and drives demand for our products. This New York City based-role requires someone with extensive media relations experience in the AdTech industry. The successful candidate will be expected to manage multiple projects across different countries flawlessly and constantly be looking for new opportunities to tell the IAS story.

Requirements

  • Key attributes include: quick thinker, results-oriented, lover of words, able to see the big picture while having a keen eye for detail, collaborative, kind, patient, creative, persuasive, resourceful, well-organized, confident, an initiator, flexible and enthusiastic.
  • A minimum of 15 years of direct hands-on communications experience, plus 3 years leading a team
  • At least five years of experience in the AdTech sector, with a deep understanding of the industry, products, and players
  • Journalist-quality writing skills
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling instincts, polished presentation skills and the confidence to command a room
  • Ability to maintain a high level of productivity while managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Proven experience recruiting, developing, managing, and leading a diverse and high-performing team
  • You're a strong media relations strategist who is also happy to roll up your sleeves and do the legwork to carry out the strategy you’ve created
  • Comfort working with tight deadlines, often concurrent, for disparate projects
  • Strong listening skills paired with a curious mind who can learn about new subjects and translate them into compelling stories for a broad audience
  • Have exceptional project manager chops and have the ability to structure and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Are a self-starter who approaches everything with drive, urgency, and energy
  • Excited to solve hard problems in creative ways
  • Skilled at thinking on your feet and are comfortable in a constantly changing work environment
  • Ability to travel as required

Responsibilities

  • Help create and implement the communications strategy for the Americas
  • Generate proactive media coverage that enhances IAS’s reputation with key journalists and influencers
  • Run executive visibility and awards initiatives, working directly with senior executives
  • Build and execute a global social media strategy
  • Manage and mentor a small but mighty team
  • Oversee complex programs and events
  • Develop and manage multiple internal communications projects
