About The Position

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting the department's external and internal communications activities. The ideal candidate will have an interest in communications, strong writing skills with a focus on grammar, punctuation, and style guides, and exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills are required. This is a highly visible role, which provides the opportunity to develop collaborative relationships across the communications team, and learn about the business segments and business strategies; a high degree of relationship building and professionalism is required.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience within communications and public/media relations (including internships)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field

  • Proficient in Microsoft (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor media related activity for the communications team.
  • Track media activity and news coverage, packaging daily clips and providing metrics for weekly, monthly and annual activity reports
  • Conduct daily press monitoring, keeping the team and key stakeholders aware of breaking and trending news stories
  • Compile media coverage recaps to share with key stakeholders
  • Maintain and update media lists
  • Work with members of the communications team to draft and edit written content.
  • Assist with drafting and proof-reading communications (press releases, pitches, executive bios, internal memos & presentations, talking points, etc.)
  • Work in partnership with communications management and service line leadership, business development, and key stakeholders to implement deliverables for a broad range of communication activities targeted to internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and manage external and internal requests from Comms designated inboxes
  • Create materials with input from the communications team to share key deliverables with the department and others as needed.
  • Help create and maintain a full communications dashboard of activity to be shared on a regular basis
  • Provide administrative support to the Communications team.
  • Efficiently manage documents and requests, support communications colleagues across a range of needs including presentations, meeting support, facilitating and triaging approvals, managing team meetings, team calendars and team events, and supporting communications during high media moments
  • Budget management, expense processing and team event planning
  • Maintain a calendar of relevant events (speaking engagements, industry awards/events, editorial calendars, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
