UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. The Peace, Security, and Resilience (PSR) Section of the Policy, Programme, and Intergovernmental Division supports UN Women to fulfill its triple mandate in contexts impacted by terrorism and counter terrorism, and to support the UN system efforts to accelerate the implementation of the women, peace, and security (WPS) commitments, including as set out in the Beijing Platform for Action and the Pact for the Future, Action 19. UN Women, through its PSR Section, is supporting countries to ensure gender equality is mainstreamed in counterterrorism and Preventing Violent Extremism (CT/PVE) efforts of the United Nations and Member States. Such work is being done at country and global level. To support this work, UN Women is looking for a communication consultant that can provide support for organizing events (communication), capture substantial contributions, and translate them into reports and communication products for a variety of audiences.
