About The Position

The Communications Assistant position at Oklahoma City Comets is an entry-level role focused on supporting the communications and community relations efforts for the team during the 2025 baseball season. Requirements

• Previous sports information experience.
• Strong baseball knowledge.
• Strong writing skills (AP style).
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop.
• Completion or nearing completion of bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.

Nice To Haves

• Cursory knowledge of Spanish is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with production of all baseball information, including the annual media guide, daily game notes, and game recaps for both home and road games.
• Assist with all press box operations during OKC Comets home games, including roles such as Data Stringer, BOSS Operator, and Field Timing Coordinator.
• Compile in-game video highlights for team and media use.
• Develop original content for team publications and social media.
• Assist with writing and production of team press releases and media advisories.
• Help coordinate credential, interview, and photo requests.
• Potential on-air appearances via team broadcasts and/or social media, commensurate with experience.

Benefits

• Position is paid $15 per hour with a maximum of 40 hours per week, and the employee will be eligible for overtime.
• Compensation will increase during home games when performing the duties of Data Stringer, BOSS Operator, or Field Timing Coordinator.
• Meals are provided prior to home games.
