The Department of Anthropology is home to a diverse community of scholars and students who produce inventive, multidisciplinary, and impactful research and pedagogy in critical areas of concern in the U.S. and abroad. This work contributes to Princeton's ambitious plan to build capacity for the future. The Communications & Operations Manager works with the Chair, the Manager, Finance and Administration, faculty, the Director of the VizE LAB, the faculty's lectures committee, and the two Co-Directors of the new Human Rights Initiative to develop communication strategies and oversee the department's everyday operations. Primary duties include communications development and implementation, production of online and printed marketing materials and outreach strategies, and managing departmental calendars. The position also oversees the departmental website and social media platforms, departmental and faculty-led events, and promotion for these events, as well as other assigned duties. This position is responsible for creating content and managing internal and external communications. This includes writing news articles of initiatives and events, maintaining the department's social media presence, and sending emails to keep faculty, students, staff, and external contacts informed about department events and news. The Communications & Operations manager overseas all aspects of these events from start to finish. This position oversees all event budgets (large and small), and reports to the Manager, Finance and Administration.
