About The Position

Okanagan College Foundation is the fundraising partner of Okanagan College and works with community donors to advance the priorities of the College and support student success. The College's Advancement Team provides dedicated staff resource to deliver the Foundation's mission, to inspire donors to transform lives and communities. Under the general direction of the Director Advancement / Executive Director OCF, and in coordination with the Associate Director, College Relations, the Communications Advisor, Advancement leads fundraising communications and marketing strategy and execution for the Advancement Department and Okanagan College Foundation in order to ensure the success of fundraising campaign goals. The Advisor is a leader in the Advancement Department and works collaboratively with Development Officers, communications peers and senior leaders OC-wide to deliver communications which inspire donors to invest and contribute to fundraising campaigns. The Advisor supervises the Fundraising Communications and Marketing Specialist, student employees, and specialist external agencies supporting the implementation of fundraising marketing campaigns and priorities. The position manages marketing and communications budgets and resources. A skilled fundraising communications professional, the Advisor leads, executes and creates content for marketing and communications campaigns and media strategies for complex multi-million dollar fundraising campaigns, including annual, capital and institutional campaigns. The Advisor works to maintain a positive public profile and elevates the Foundation's brand story in the community. They provide strategic advice to the Director Advancement, ensures materials are aligned with the College and Foundation's values and brand, and maintains strict confidentiality relating to major gifts, donor interactions and fundraising initiatives. This position will be required to work evenings and weekends as required. Performs other duties as required.
