About The Position

The selected applicant will provide technical support of Communications-Electronics (C-E) equipment, systems, subsystems, and ancillaries in fixed/mobile communications facilities/platforms for the Department of Defense (DoD), US Special Operations Forces (SOF), and other government agencies as directed. Technical support services may include evaluation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, installation, integration, and modification of C5ISR systems and equipment. Additional tasks would include assemble components and subassemblies following production drawings, fabricate cables, and install equipment into vehicles, boats, ships, or buildings. Travel to various US locations may be required, and periodic short-term (<30 days) travel to OCONUS locations may be required. The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $36.22/hr. This position is located in San Diego, CA. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or be willing to relocate to the San Diego, CA area.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and at least 2 years of related experience
  • Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations
  • Ability to meet and maintain the certifications/qualifications for travel to Hazardous Duty locations
  • Microsoft Office proficient (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • C-E test equipment experience
  • C-E schools or equivalent school (military or equivalent civilian training)

  • Tactical or Shipboard radio (SATCOM, LOS, and HF) operations/maintenance experience
  • COMSEC equipment operations/maintenance experience
  • Component level repair and soldering experience
