About The Position

Clovis Community College is looking for a Communication Studies Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool).

Requirements

• earned master’s degree in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication, or organizational communication
• bachelor’s degree in any of the above and master’s degree in drama/theater arts, mass communication, or English
• a valid California Community College credential
• the equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency)
• demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching introductory public speaking, interpersonal communication, argumentation, persuasion, group communication and other courses offered by the department
• experience in the development of new courses
• experience with educational technologies (computer, personal response systems, on-line learning systems)
• working with students of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
• demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students and staff
• related work and professional experience.
