About The Position

ISO New England is the independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. ISO New England is looking for a Communications Associate to join our dynamic and collaborative communications team, with a particular focus on social media and content development. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have lots of enthusiasm for developing content suitable for different platforms, including media relations, emergency communications, and employee communications. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, or relevant field
  • Communications experience demonstrated through professional experience, internships, and/or coursework
  • Strong writer, with a track record of storytelling – you like to help people better understand a certain topic or issue
  • Experience with emergency and/or crisis communications, or other deadline-driven work
  • Highly organized and deadline-driven with an ability to multitask
  • Natural curiosity – you like asking questions and understanding complicated topics
  • Able to work collaboratively with a team, as well as independently

Responsibilities

  • Develop, schedule, and publish content for websites, blog, and social media
  • Support video production and visual content development
  • Monitor traditional and social media; create reports and metrics
  • Assist with media inquiries, press releases, and statements
  • Participate in on‑call rotation for after-hours communications needs
