About The Position

Faculty in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences cultivate student skill in understanding, evaluating and producing communication. The persons added to our affiliate instructor pool are part-time faculty who work on a contracted basis dependent on department needs. Individuals may apply to teach in these emphasis areas with the defined academic qualifications: Public Speaking, Communication Theory, Organizational Communication, Gender and Communication, Culture and Communication, Rhetoric, and Interpersonal Communication. Qualified applicants will be placed in the departmental pool and will be considered for affiliate/part-time departmental needs.. The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups. Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Communication or relevant discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • A doctorate in Communication or relevant discipline.
  • Experience working with and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse urban student population including (but not limited to) students of color, LBGTQIA students, students from low-income backgrounds, first-generation students, students with disabilities, undocumented students, non-traditional students, student veterans, and English language learners.
