About The Position

The Art, Communication, Media & Music Department at Onondaga Community College is accepting applications from qualified individuals to teach Communication Studies in-person at our location in Syracuse. The department is seeking adjunct instructors qualified to teach one or more of the following introductory courses: Introduction to Communication, Interpersonal Communication and Public Speaking. Often, classes taught in the middle of the day need to be filled. All classes will be taught face-to-face on our Syracuse campus.

Requirements

• Master's degree (or higher) in Communication Studies or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university or foreign equivalency.

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching at the community college level.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, or English and other languages.

Responsibilities

• Teach one or more introductory courses in Communication Studies.
• Fill classes that are often scheduled in the middle of the day.
• Conduct face-to-face classes on the Syracuse campus.

Benefits

• Adjunct rate of pay for the 2025-2026 academic year is $1483 per credit.
• Eligible to participate in the NYS Teacher's Retirement System.
