About The Position

The Utility Associate position primarily serves as front line support to student dining, but may be called upon to assist in any other area of the DCCE operation as needed. This position must follow food safety and sanitation procedures and work collaboratively with colleagues while building and developing positive relationships with all staff members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent desired
• Serve Safe certification preferred
• A valid driver's license is preferred
• Previous food service experience desired
• Commitment to equity and inclusion, and serving the needs of a culturally and educationally diverse community
• Strong commitment to customer service
• Exemplary organizational and time management skills are a must
• Ability to multitask
• Understands and thrives in a high volume food service environment

Responsibilities

• Assist as needed in food stations
• Perform front of the house duties: beverage, choices, cereals, cashier, building duties and room set-ups, etc.
• Receive and put away stock
• Assist in the kitchen
• Assist in catering, catering/delivery
• Assist in cash operations
• Assist in the dishroom
• Ensures that proper sanitation and safety standards are maintained
• Promotes and values diversity and practices two-way communication
• Develops an excellent working relationship with other areas of Dining and the institution
• Maintains the highest levels of customer service practices at all times
• Performs all other duties as assigned
• Meeting schedule includes monthly Dining, Conferences and Campus Events town meetings and monthly sector meetings
