The Common Operating Picture (COP) C5ISR Engineer at DCS Corp in Sterling Heights, MI, is responsible for providing technical services and project leadership for the successful integration and fielding of a COP system and other C5ISR systems. This role involves working as part of a DoD vehicle platform project management team, overseeing multi-disciplinary projects for tactical ground vehicles. The engineer will provide leadership and direction to the development of a GCCS-J based Joint Common Operational Picture (JCOP) system, assist functional leads in executing efforts that support the JCOP, and maintain effective communication with various team members and partners. The position requires a high degree of responsibility and interaction with the customer, as well as the ability to author program documents and participate in design reviews.

  • Provide technical and programmatic support to a project management office overseeing multi-disciplinary projects for tactical ground vehicles.
  • Lead the development and fielding of a GCCS-J based Joint Common Operational Picture (JCOP) system.
  • Assist functional leads in the development and execution of efforts supporting the JCOP.
  • Work with user community to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Maintain effective communications with team members and partners.
  • Coordinate with various functional areas within the program office.
  • Interact with other Program Management Organizations (PMOs) and Government agencies.
  • Author program documents including statements of work (SOWs) and Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs).
  • Oversee execution of project facets according to established documents and agreements.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure system integration meets requirements.
  • Directly interface with the customer on a daily basis.
  • Prepare and present briefings to program leadership.
  • Contribute input to program documents and participate in regular team meetings.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer or electrical engineering.
  • At least 8 years of experience relevant to this role.
  • Experience with DoD ground vehicle C5ISR systems and system architectures.
  • Knowledge of GCCS-J and other joint common operating picture systems.
  • Ability to develop a project execution vision and lead the team toward consensus.
  • Self-starter with initiative and ability to work autonomously within a team.
  • High quality of work with attention to detail.
  • Customer-service mentality and willingness to accept taskings from the customer.
  • Experience managing projects and tracking adherence to cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with HMS radio and associated waveforms.
  • Experience as a Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) or similar.
  • Understanding of COP systems from both end-user and operational perspectives.
  • Experience with joint interoperability certification requirements and testing.
  • Familiarity with DoD Risk Management processes.
  • Familiarity with the DoD acquisition process.
  • Experience as a Lead Systems Engineer (LSE).
  • Knowledge in performing engineering analyses and technology assessments.
  • Experience supporting a DoD program office.
  • Familiarity with engineering reviews and related criteria.
