We are hiring a CAC Operator responsible for providing secure and efficient identification card services to eligible personnel, including Soldiers, retirees, family members, civilian employees, and contractors. This role supports the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and Real-Time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS) operations at designated Army installations.

Requirements

  • Required: U.S. Citizenship
  • Favorably adjudicated Tier 1 background investigation
  • Completion of CAC Operator training via DMDC Learning Portal
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Prior experience with DEERS/RAPIDS systems
  • Familiarity with AR 600-8-14 and other applicable Army regulations
  • Customer service experience in a military or government setting

Responsibilities

  • ID Card and CAC Services: Issue Common Access Cards (CACs), Geneva Convention Cards, and other forms of military identification.
  • Process new issues, replacements, and updates for ID cards using RAPIDS terminals.
  • Maintain accountability and inventory of blank and processed ID cards.
  • Manage appointment scheduling via centralized systems and respond to email/phone requests.
  • DEERS Administration: Enroll and disenroll personnel in DEERS.
  • Research and reconcile DEERS discrepancies and respond to inquiries.
  • Update DEERS records within one hour of approval.
  • Customer Service: Provide courteous and professional service to walk-in and scheduled customers.
  • Ensure average wait time for scheduled appointments does not exceed 30 minutes.
  • Assist with ID tag issuance and facility access documentation (e.g., DA Form 1602, agent letters).
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure compliance with DoD and Army regulations regarding identity verification and card issuance.
  • Maintain logs of issued badges and cards, and report missing cards within one workday.
  • Complete and maintain required certifications for CAC Operator, Verifying Official (VO), Site Security Manager (SSM), and Assistant SSM (ASSM).
