About The Position

The Commodity Planner at Kalmbach Feeds is a execution focused supply chain coordination role that supports daily ingredient flow and plant operations. This position works closely with Nutrition, Sales, Marketing, Transportation, Purchasing, and Production to ensure materials are ordered accurately, delivered on time, and properly documented.

The role is responsible for execution of purchase orders, delivery schedules, inventory monitoring, forecasting updates, pricing coordination, and freight communication. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, organized follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining clear communication across departments. 

As challenges arise, the individual in this role must prioritize effectively, communicate clearly, and balance operational needs with company standards.

Requirements

• Team-oriented and able to support Purchasing and Nutrition through accurate coordination and follow-through
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to assist with planning and forecasting ingredient and raw material needs
• Capable of monitoring inventories to help avoid outages and plant downtime
• Comfortable supporting freight coordination and identifying cost-saving opportunities
• Able to coordinate direct ship loads to fulfill customer orders
• Organized problem solver who can resolve day-to-day supply chain issues
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and a professional, steady approach
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective time management skills
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
• Thrives in a fast-paced work environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working within ERP systems
