About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Commodity Manager in United States. This role leads the development and execution of global commodity strategies to optimize supply chain performance and support manufacturing and business operations. The Commodity Manager oversees a team of buyers, managing supplier relationships and procurement activities for a diverse range of materials, goods, and services. You will drive cost savings, ensure quality and timely delivery, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing with business objectives. The position requires strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders. This is a high-impact, leadership role within a dynamic and collaborative environment where innovation, operational excellence, and supplier partnerships are key.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field (Engineering strongly preferred).
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including 10 years in purchasing or supply chain, and at least 5 years leading strategic supplier sourcing.
  • APICS or CPM certification strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of global sourcing, commodity management, and supplier negotiation strategies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and analytics tools (PowerBI, Tableau, SAP Analytics Cloud).
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive results.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to anticipate and resolve supply chain challenges.
  • Experience managing complex procurement projects and integrating supply strategies across multiple business units.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute commodity strategies that optimize supplier capabilities and procurement spend while meeting corporate objectives for cost, quality, delivery, and service.
  • Lead a team of buyers to manage global sourcing, supplier qualification, and supplier performance improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee procurement of materials, services, and freight to support development, NPI, and mass production requirements.
  • Build strong supplier relationships to support short- and long-term business needs and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with product management, production planning, and design engineering to ensure timely procurement and resolution of technical issues.
  • Negotiate and establish global supply agreements with key suppliers to achieve business goals.
  • Track KPIs and generate analyses using ERP systems and reporting tools to support strategic decisions.
  • Implement policies, procedures, and systems to streamline procurement activities and ensure compliance.
