About The Position

Heroux-Devtek, the world's 3rd largest producer of landing gear, serves the civil and military aerospace markets from production facilities in North America, Europe and United Kingdom. Located in Strongsville, the 90+ employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Héroux-Devtek's centers of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear. As part of the Central Division, you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs as F-18, F-35, C-17 and C-130. With a strong focus on latest technology of manufacturing processes with machining automation and techniques we aim to remain the best value producer of complex landing gear components.

Requirements

  • 7+ years' experience in manufacturing
  • Experience with contract negotiation
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically and globally
  • Analytical Skills - Data Analysis and Financial Analysis
  • Intermediate negotiation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Inventory Management experience
  • Minimum of a 4 year BA/BS in business, technical or related field
  • MBA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a team leader for the procurement team to manage monthly KPIs (OTD, Inventory, PPV, etc.) and provide guidance on best practices supply chain support
  • Preparing, conducting/leading supplier contract negotiations with best in class price, payment terms, quality levels, and delivery terms in alignment with corporate objectives
  • Ensure accuracy of contractual agreement for assigned suppliers
  • Coordinate and support on-site supplier assessment and continuous improvement activities that drive down total cost and increase total supplier quality
  • Develop relationship with upper management at key suppliers
  • Manage supplier escalations and improvement plans
  • Assess supplier capacity and conduct risk analysis- capacity and financial
  • Identify new and/or alternate sources of supply as necessary to support new product development, cost reduction requirements, and/or supplier performance issues
  • Evaluate medium to long-term supplier capabilities to optimize supply base deliverables
  • Perform all necessary duties to support corporate goals as it relates to established supplier quality, total cost, and inventory objectives
  • Maintain a solid working knowledge of essential commodity trends including: industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, material lead times, and technical/manufacturing processes
  • Support in the make vs. buy analysis through new program introduction/launch
  • Other duties, reporting, special assignments or projects as needed and assigned
