Role Summary: Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, the Commodity Buyer is responsible for the procurement of commodities for distribution following company procedures and practices. This role will require a blend of skills and experience focused on communicating with the Commodity Manager, knowledge of commodity markets, procurement and inventory control of thousands of SKU’s at 42 branches. The commodity buyer will communicate with the Commodity Manager to update pricing and inventory levels, and ensure reasonable turns based on sales. Commodity Buyer must possess a sound knowledge of procurement procedures and technical knowledge of the items purchased.
