We are seeking a Commodity Buyer with proven purchasing experience who can immediately contribute to our team. This role requires a strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced environments and can manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and cost-saving initiatives. The Commodity Buyer will be responsible for the Press Parts commodity: including stampings and fineblankings, as well as oversight of the Steel Resale Program. This role supports purchasing activities across multiple U.S. manufacturing facilities, while working closely with counterparts in Mexico, Brazil, and globally to align strategies, share best practices, and drive projects forward.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of purchasing or commodity management experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • Strong negotiation skills with ability to manage cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Experience in supplier relationship management and strategic sourcing.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret cost models, market data, and commercial terms.
  • High sense of urgency, ownership, and ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage sourcing, cost management, and all purchasing facets for assigned commodities.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to align beneficial pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as VAVE, resourcing projects, and engineering changes.
  • Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and cost drivers to identify opportunities for savings and risk mitigation.
  • Support new program launches by ensuring supply chain readiness and cost competitiveness.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and Plant teams to align sourcing strategies and work through special projects.
  • Support quality group with supplier performance, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain purchasing documentation, contracts, and compliance with company policies.
