The Commodities Trading and Operations Management training program at GLE Scrap Metal is a comprehensive 12-month initiative designed to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge in both operations and commodity trading. This program is based in Opa-Locka, Florida, with additional training opportunities at various locations across Florida and Michigan, including Tampa, Daytona, Casselberry, Ocoee, Warren, Melvindale, and Sterling Heights. Participants will engage in hands-on training with experienced staff, gaining insights into the intricacies of the metal recycling industry. Throughout the program, trainees will learn to identify, grade, and price commodities, as well as manage daily operations, shipping and receiving, processing, and packaging of materials. Emphasis will be placed on safety and environmental considerations, alongside both domestic and international logistics. Participants will also collaborate with sales staff to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and consumers, while working closely with the operations team to understand the effective and efficient management of a metal recycling facility and processing plant. Upon successful completion of the training program, participants will have the opportunity to transition into roles in sales or operations management at one of the company's eight locations. This program offers a unique chance to experience all facets of a metal recycling and processing company, providing a solid foundation for a career in this dynamic industry.
