Maverick Power is seeking a strategic and experienced Commodity Manager to join our Strategic Procurement Team! This role is pivotal in sourcing, purchasing, and managing raw materials critical for our manufacturing operations, ensuring cost efficiency, timely delivery, and high-quality standards. The Commodity Manager will lead supplier relationship management, negotiate contracts, monitor market trends, and implement procurement strategies to optimize supply chain processes. In this position, the Commodity Manager will be responsible for strategically sourcing and procuring materials in accordance with production requirements and budgetary constraints. This includes developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure continuity of supply, negotiating favorable terms, and monitoring supplier performance and quality. The role also involves monitoring market trends, pricing fluctuations, and global supply conditions to anticipate changes and mitigate potential risks. The Commodity Manager will negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, reviewing and finalizing contract terms to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. Additionally, the role requires managing inventory levels of materials to meet production demands while minimizing excess inventory and cost. Coordination with production planning and logistics teams is essential to ensure timely delivery of materials and components to support manufacturing schedules. Data analysis and reporting are key components of this role, as the Commodity Manager will analyze procurement data, market trends, and supplier performance metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements. Maintaining accurate purchasing records and data in ERP systems and preparing reports for management review are also critical responsibilities. Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, operations, and quality assurance teams will support new product development initiatives and ensure materials meet technical specifications and quality standards.
