Serves as the primary problem solving and parts support contact during start-up of assigned commissioning projects, advises leadership on status of specific projects, and interfaces with field service personnel to ensure that commissioning proceeds in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience desired

  • Level Basic Understanding: Focuses activities on developing and maintaining positive customer relationships. Discusses general differences between internally and externally focused organizations. Cites the cost and benefits of good versus poor customer service. Explains why customer satisfaction is important to successful product/service delivery.
  • Information Capture: Knowledge of the methods, channels and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner.
  • Level Basic Understanding: Identifies information capture needs in own area. Describes key benefits, drawbacks and rationale for documenting relevant information. Provides examples of the risks associated with failing to record relevant information. Explains organizational methods for documenting, identifying and recording information.
  • Products and Services: Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Level Basic Understanding: Describes how own unit's products and services fit within the organization's as a whole. Cites examples of how clients are using the organization's products and services. Collects research product information, service information and marketing literature. Identifies organization's flagship products and services.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Level Working Knowledge: Documents common hardware, software and communications problems and likely resolutions. Troubleshoots typical technical problems in a specific area. Works with vendor-specific diagnostic guides, tools and utilities to discover application problems. Adheres to standard troubleshooting procedures to ensure effectiveness of resolutions. Participates in setting evaluation standards and criterion for troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Resolving complex technical problems, parts support, manpower and project schedules, diagnostics, modifications, and repair services when required. Coordinates these activities with on-site field personnel and district leadership during package commissioning.
  • Delivering status documentation to management including follow-up on short- ship list, engine out of commission for parts (EOCP) requirements, start-up checklists, and turbomachinery quality issues.
  • Maintaining records of costs and other pertinent data for each project and following up on back ordered parts.
  • Ensuring all project requirements are met and customer acceptance of project.
