About The Position

WSG Energy Services is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning and start-up (CSU) activities for an urgent 40MW temporary power project in Texas, with anticipated transition into a larger 200MW power generation project. The Commissioning Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all commissioning activities to ensure systems are delivered safely, compliantly, and ready for operation. This role is involved early in project execution and works closely with engineering, construction, vendors, and client teams to drive a successful start-up.

Requirements

Engineering degree or equivalent technical background
Extensive experience in commissioning and start-up of power or energy projects
Proven leadership experience managing multi-discipline teams
Strong planning, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Responsibilities

Lead the full commissioning lifecycle, from planning through final handover
Develop and execute the commissioning philosophy, strategy, and execution plans
Establish commissioning schedules, milestones, and manpower requirements
Ensure commissioning activities align with project schedule and construction readiness
Act as the primary interface between commissioning, project management, construction, vendors, and the client
Coordinate multi-discipline commissioning teams (Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Process)
Support vendor coordination and integration into commissioning activities
Ensure all commissioning activities comply with regulatory, safety, and project requirements
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all commissioning disciplines
Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
Monitor commissioning progress, identify constraints, and resolve execution issues
Provide regular progress reports, metrics, and forecasts to project leadership
Oversee final acceptance, documentation, and system handover to operations
