About The Position

Commissioning & Startup Manager is responsible for supporting project Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and startup operations from the home office/Virtual and will transfer to SHI Geoje Shipyard in South Korea upon commencement of fabrication. Home office activities include developing detailed Pre-Commissioning and commissioning schedules, integrating Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities into project schedules, Execution Readiness Preparation, preparing startup turnover packages during the engineering phase of a project, and support engineering effort such as HAZOP and model reviews. In Korea, the Commissioning & Startup Manager is assigned to the Field Commissioning Organization in a supervisory capacity within the Topside Project Team and is responsible for supervising and directing commissioning operations for the project for successful sail away. You will make day-to-day decisions in support of commissioning progress and make recommendations to project management regarding policy and procedure. You will be responsible for review of the project design and recommendation of changes to design so that project is safe and operable. Receives operational surveillance, administrative supervision from Project Management Team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Engineering preferred or Equivalent experience.
• MUST have previous experience as a Commissioning Manager on a large-scale project.
• MUST have 5-10 years of experience as a Commissioning Manager.
• Preferred candidate will have overall at least 15-20 years’ experience working on Mega projects such as LNG, FLNG, FPSO facilities.
• Experience as Commissioning/Startup Manager on LNG, FLNG, FPSO projects is preferred.
• Certifications in Project Management, Value Based Management, Sales, OSHA 10 Hour Training.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to project teams for planning and execution of project startup activities.
• Provides support for Commissioning Managers and other startup personnel to address project specific issues.
• Develops startup services scope and cost for construction proposals.
• Coordinates with Manager of Construction Proposals to ensure startup scope is properly addressed.
• Monitors, reviews, and reports on project startup activities and takes corrective action as necessary to resolve any problems.
• Directs initiative for marketing of startup services to customers outside Company.
• Coordinates with Manager of Human Resources to provide startup support staff to projects.
• Provides specialized technical support to projects as needed.
• Identifies and assesses improvement opportunities which will add value.
• Champions continuous improvement efforts.
• Assesses and supports the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.
• Proactively supports, encourages and facilitates staff to engage in continuous improvement activities.
• Acts in capacity of a 'lead person'.
• Directs commissioning managers, engineers, and other startup staff.
