About The Position

GameChange Solar is one of the fastest growing, most dynamic companies in the rapidly expanding solar industry, offering top-quality solar racking and tracker products known for energy generation, fast installation, and cost-effectiveness. The Commissioning Engineer will support technicians and customers in commissioning the fleet of solar trackers, ensuring 100% operation by monitoring for faults and troubleshooting system failures. This role also involves supporting the commissioning of new projects, both remotely and on-site. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with strong communication and troubleshooting skills to tackle real-world solar engineering problems, directly contributing to system efficiency and increased energy production. The position offers a solid base salary with significant bonus potential.

Requirements

  • Strong Communication skills: Mastery of written and spoken English required
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills
  • Strong ability to instruct people on technical issues
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Experience with programming (Python, C)
  • Experience with networks (TCP/IP,SSH,Modbus, 2.4GHz, Zigbee, VLANs, IPv4)

Nice To Haves

  • Automation experience
  • Knowledge of solar industry and worksite protocol preferred
  • 2+ years engineering experience preferred
  • Background in solar/renewables and SCADA experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide remote support for Commissioning Technicians, SCADA, and O&M teams
  • Use data from the Genius Tracker system to monitor and remediate faults in the system
  • Handle incoming RMA requests from customers and work with them to resolve faults
  • Interface with Genius Tracker system with SSH and TCP/IP python scripts to send commands and get data
  • Network Configuration of tracker devices to project VLANs to integrate with customer SCADA.
  • Tracker Performance Verification
  • Documentation of commissioning and site performance efforts
  • Travel to site to train technicians or accelerate timelines
  • Collaborate with customers and provide feedback and updates on project status
  • Assist in QA/QC testing of new releases and provide actionable feedback
