About The Position

Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering student for a paid summer internship for Summer 2025 at our Atlanta, GA office. Imagine working on rewarding client projects and being exposed to unparalleled training and development opportunities! The summer internship has a commitment of approximately mid-May through mid-August 2025. We will be accepting resumes for this opportunity through January 2025. Resumes will be reviewed as they are received. Interviews will take place in the Winter. Offers will be extended in Winter/Spring. Timeframe subject to change.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school.
  • Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Architectural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrick's insurance carrier.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for client projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Bluebeam REVU/Adobe Acrobat.
  • Local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gain technical experience in the field of building systems commissioning and sustainability consulting.
  • Conduct site observation and field testing of mechanical systems, electrical power, lighting, fire detection, and fire alarm systems.
  • Assist in the Green Globes/LEED/Guiding Principles Compliance certification processes.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and interface with clients and contractors.
  • Follow schedules and budget commitments while working independently.
  • Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
