Dematic is seeking a dedicated and driven Commissioning Engineer to join our Circular Sortation Center of Excellence with experience in Dematic or equivalent. In this engaging role, you'll join an international team, bringing our sophisticated automation systems to life on customer sites across the globe, directly contributing to a more efficient and sustainable future. Your role will involve developing and optimizing PLC programs (using Allen-Bradley) to control and improve our brand new sortation systems. You will take ownership of the system's custom database, ensuring its accuracy and efficiency. As a guardian of safety, you'll develop and maintain comprehensive safety program documentation and checklists. And ultimately, you will drive the on-site commissioning of sorter systems, guaranteeing seamless integration and exceptional performance.   • Build PLC programs from the ground up, interpreting electrical schematics, system specifications, and functional descriptions to build robust and efficient control logic.
  • Design, develop, and implement PLC/SCADA programs to interface the sorter system with external conveyor systems.
  • Build and maintain comprehensive safety checklists and documentation, including risk assessments, safety function descriptions, and validation procedures.
  • Complete offline commissioning procedures for the sorter system, including detailed testing of safety-related PLC programs according to the safety checklist.
  • Participate in the integration of the sorter system with the overall system, performing online commissioning and validation.
  • 3-4 years of technical experience in automation, industrial or material handling fields as technician or Commissioning Engineer.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in electronic, electrotechnics, electrical, mechatronic, Automation or IT engineering.
  • Willingness to travel up to 85% of time domestically and internationally.
  • Knowledge in programming software including Allen Bradley, Rockwell, and Siemens.
  • Strong orientation to reach the targets, initiative, autonomy, and propensity to work in team.
  • C++ programming knowledge is a plus.
