Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- Certified Commissioning Authority (ACG) or Certified Commissioning Professional (BCA), or ability to obtain within 6 months
- 10+ years of experience in commissioning documentation and field testing
- Functional knowledge of building systems across disciplines (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, controls, lighting, etc.)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and NewForma
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Project management experience preferred
Nice To Haves
- LEED GA or AP (desirable but not required)
- Project management experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead, plan, and coordinate commissioning activities across all phases of a project—from design through post-construction.
- Perform design reviews
- Develop commissioning documentation
- Conduct field testing to ensure systems meet owner requirements and design intent.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and submittals for compliance with owner requirements and sustainability goals
- Identify design issues related to operability, maintainability, and code compliance
- Coordinate commissioning tasks with construction schedules
- Develop detailed pre-functional and functional test plans
- Conduct field testing and diagnose minor controls or operational issues
- Document issues and track resolution across all project phases
- Prepare commissioning reports and assist in developing O&M manuals
- Support project certification documentation when required
- Manage commissioning projects involving multiple trades
- Communicate clearly with internal and external teams to maintain positive relationships
- Deliver projects on time and under budget while maintaining quality standards
