About The Position

ICS, a Legence company, is a solutions-based consulting firm specializing in planning and project-related solutions. The Commissioning Agent is responsible for executing the building commissioning process, including new, retro, recommissioning, and continuous commissioning. The candidate should be familiar with the construction administration process and sustainable design documentation processes such as LEED, ASHRAE Level 1, 2, 3 Audits, WELL, and B3. The role involves managing and executing commissioning services for large and complex projects, primarily HVAC-related but also including plumbing, electrical distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, and other systems. The job is mostly on-site, with the majority of work in Minneapolis, Duluth, and Fargo areas.

Requirements

  • 1-2+ years of commissioning experience.
  • Strong facilitation, team building, and collaboration skills in a construction environment.
  • Robust project and client management experience.
  • Degree in engineering, environmental science, architecture, or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • AABC Commissioning Agent (CxA) or (BCxA) certification.
  • ASHRAE Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP) certification.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification.
  • Existing Building Commissioning Professional (EBCP) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute commissioning services for large and complex projects across the region.
  • Attend meetings with design and construction teams to understand project goals and schedules.
  • Support in obtaining sustainability certifications such as B3, LEED, etc.
  • Review equipment submittals and shop drawings for compliance with design intent.
  • Perform design reviews during DD and CD phases to ensure compliance with OPR and best practices.
  • Perform pre-functional inspections and field observations of equipment and systems.
  • Write pre-functional and functional test procedures based on industry standards.
  • Perform functional testing of building MEP systems.
  • Help team diagnose and resolve equipment and/or system problems.
  • Participate in owners' operation and maintenance staff training.
