About The Position

The Commissary Contractor Monitor serves as a key quality assurance role within the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). This position is responsible for conducting inspections and overseeing contracted services in commissaries, ensuring compliance with established directives and maintaining high standards of service delivery.

Requirements

• One year of demonstrated knowledge of retail procurement and distribution methods.
• Knowledge of principles, procedures, and techniques of retail food merchandising and retail food store management.
• Experience conducting quality assurance inspections and contract surveillance duties in a retail setting.
• Ability to monitor vendors and contractors to ensure proper inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Conducts quality assurance inspections and contractor surveillance.
• Provides comments and recommendations for additions, deletions, or changes to contractor services to ensure compliance with DeCA directives.
• Approves or rejects contractor's work schedule and checks work for quality and timeliness.
• Maintains the store's allocations program by designating proper item shelf locations when shelf tags are missing or not identifiable.
• Advises commissary or contracted order writers.
• Acts as the commissary manager's representative during night time hours to ensure government property is secure.
