About The Position

The Commercial Underwriter at CountryPlace Mortgage is responsible for conducting financial analysis for various commercial lending products, including floorplan lines and revolving lines of credit. This role involves assessing commercial credit packages, communicating risks, and collaborating with legal teams to ensure compliance and protection of interests. The underwriter will also manage UCC filings and review loan documentation prior to funding, ensuring a customer-focused approach throughout the underwriting process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field required.
  • 1-2 years of Commercial Underwriting experience or equivalent, including credit, structuring, and financial statement analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Underwriting commercial loan requests by analyzing financial conditions using various documentation.
  • Conducting cash flow analysis and pro forma forecasting.
  • Understanding business entity legal ownership structures and explaining them clearly.
  • Recommending appropriate security measures based on risk profiles and ownership structures.
  • Directing package decisioning to the appropriate authority level and communicating package details as required.
  • Managing assigned UCC filings to ensure legal security matches the credit package.
  • Maintaining clear communication with stakeholders throughout the underwriting process.
  • Preparing legal documents and ensuring necessary documentation is received.
  • Conducting final reviews of loan documentation and audits prior to funding.
  • Performing periodic account reviews and maintenance.
  • Handling ad hoc projects as needed.
