About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter with a strong background in wholesale underwriting for business auto and other commercial package lines, including general liability, business property, and cargo. This role is responsible for evaluating risk eligibility, pricing and structuring accounts, managing renewals, and driving profitable growth within a defined book of business. Your Impact: Actively introduce specialty products to new producer relationships, and legacy retail agencies of our firm Determine eligibility of incoming commercial insurance submissions Use underwriting tools and historical reports to make sound underwriting decisions which ensure a profitable book of business Work within underwriting authority to strive for a book of business with a loss ratio lower than 40% Discuss quotes and coverage with the producing agent to point out key selling points of our product(s) Review driver MVRs to determine eligibility, and client inspection reports Provide oversight and mentorship to Underwriting Assistants, delegating tasks strategically to optimize workflow and maintain underwriting quality Assess clients’ background information and financial status when required Successful Candidate Will Have: Home state Property & Casualty insurance license preferred Proven insurance underwriting knowledge, with commercial auto and other package risks Minimum of five years insurance account administration with commercial auto and package business experience, along with ancillary corresponding lines proficiency Associate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or related field. Pay Range: $84,200 - $130,000 Annual The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for this role. Requirements
