Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in insurance or related field.
• 2–5 years of Commercial P&C underwriting experience (more senior roles available for experienced candidates).
• Proven success in agency relationship management and business development.
• Strong analytical, communication, and influencing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email platforms.
• Experience with online underwriting tools (e.g., Silver Plume, Reference Connect) preferred.
• Professional insurance coursework (e.g., CPCU, AU) is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dynamic relationships with Independent Agents to drive premium growth and retention.
• Evaluate new and renewal submissions to determine risk acceptability, pricing, and coverage terms.
• Use advanced underwriting tools to assess risk characteristics, set property limits, and ensure insurance-to-value accuracy.
• Order and review inspections to validate underwriting decisions and ensure compliance with company guidelines.
• Achieve targets for new business premium, renewal retention, and rate changes.
