About The Position

The Underwriter II (U/W II) is a mid-level underwriter who, along with the other credit support staff, will work closely with the Credit Administrator and the Director of Credit Administration to evaluate loan applications, complete credit analysis, monitor loan disbursements and compliance with loan terms, set up systems, products and services associated with the lending functions of United Business Bank. In this position, you will complete financial analysis and develop credit presentations for new loans, renewals, annual reviews and covenant monitoring. This position will interact with clients to discuss credit requests and obtain and evaluate appropriate information relative to the request. This position may assist the Relationship Manager in determining loan structure, and may make credit presentations to the loan committee in the absence of the Relationship Manager. This position will also assist in documenting loans, monitoring disbursements and following up for required documentation. In addition, you will have other duties relating to credit administration as will be defined over time. They also assist the Credit Administrator with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Math, Business or related field, required.
  • Knowledge of banking and lending operations and procedures, as well as, the various regulations and standard banking practices.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the lending area of a financial institution working in a Credit Analyst or Underwriter role.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business development techniques and cross-selling skills.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and handle credit requests.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good personal computer skills, ability to use Word and Excel.
