Basic Job Functions:Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. The Position: Commercial Track teammates fabricate, manufacture, and assemble garage door tracks for C.H.I. doors. This can include the use of forklifts, hand/power tools, carts, racks, and other industrial equipment. This can also include the manufacturing, assembly and support of the production of C.H.I. products such as doors, door assemblies, or other support components. Commercial Track Teammates must be able to work well in a team environment. This is a heavy lifting position.

Requirements

  • 1 year previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or construction

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or construction
  • Knowledge or experience in the roofing industry

Responsibilities

  • Read production paperwork and performs work as assigned by the department supervisor.
  • Read and comprehend diagrams or spec sheets for custom commercial overhead door track assembly & installation.
  • Use measuring devices to accurately measure components (1/16" tolerance) to be assembled
  • Assemble materials to produce garage doors and/or assemblies.
  • Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages and include correct shipping documents.
  • Pack finished goods for shipment.
  • Notify the supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
  • Place finished goods in the proper area and/or trailer for shipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Maintain production standards without compromising quality.
  • Other reasonably related duties as assigned.
