About The Position

Murrey’s Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is hiring a Commercial Tire Technician in Fife, Washington. This is a critical, hands-on role where attention to detail, technical accuracy, and a strong safety mindset directly impact the safety of our drivers and the communities we serve. Our Commercial Tire Technicians work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, ensuring that our fleet operates safely on the road every single day. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in high-quality, precise work and is looking to join a stable company that invests in long-term career growth. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:00pm–9:30pm, with opportunities for overtime Pay: $31–$33 per hour, depending on experience, plus $1.50 shift differential Benefits: Comprehensive family benefits, 401(k) with company match, consistent wage increases, and stable, year-round work

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working with commercial truck tires.
  • Clean driving record and ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proven experience in tire repair, replacement, and wheel component work.
  • TIA Certification preferred, or willingness and ability to obtain it.
  • Knowledge of truck wheel and tire components and the ability to handle, move, and store heavy materials safely.
  • Ability to use torque and impact wrenches according to safety specifications.
  • Knowledge of compressed natural gas (CNG) systems is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and task management.
  • Additional skills may be required depending on business needs and specific work location.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections on fleet vehicle tires, wheels, and related components, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Maintain fleet tire safety by identifying, repairing, or replacing worn or damaged tires and components.
  • Mount and dismount commercial tires using proper tools, torque standards, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain, track, and secure tire inventory and equipment to ensure all tools and materials remain in safe working condition.
  • Complete accurate digital records of repairs, time, and parts usage.
  • Conduct biweekly tire tread-depth surveys to identify potential safety issues before they occur.
  • Support preventative maintenance and assist with general vehicle repairs when needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area.
  • Uphold company core values, safety standards, and operational policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
