About The Position

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is a premier mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC and Plumbing solutions for commercial construction. Formerly Anderson Mechanical Services, Inc. and Inspiration Plumbing Company, we combined decades of expertise to deliver award-winning results across new construction, renovations, design-build projects, and complex commercial installations. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Commercial Superintendent to lead jobsite operations, ensure safety and quality, and drive projects to successful completion while representing VMG's standards of excellence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years supervising commercial construction projects (HVAC/Plumbing/MEP preferred)
  • Strong experience managing crews and jobsite operations
  • Solid understanding of scheduling, sequencing, and cost control
  • OSHA 30 preferred (or strong safety mindset)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day jobsite operations with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to meet milestones and deadlines
  • Support budgeting, manpower planning, and resource allocation
  • Lead project startup through closeout, including sequencing and coordination
  • Represent VMG in meetings with clients, contractors, and partners
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and enforce safety protocols
  • Ensure OSHA and company safety standards are followed
  • Report hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly
  • Verify work against plans, specifications, and quality standards
  • Ensure proper care and accountability for tools, equipment, and vehicles
  • Complete daily logs, time sheets, and project reports accurately
  • Track costs, invoices, and subcontractor expenses
  • Maintain organized project records and schedules
  • Direct and coordinate field crews and subcontractors
  • Set expectations, coach team members, and address performance issues
  • Promote a respectful, team-oriented culture built on accountability
