About The Position

The Commercial Services Technician provides skilled technical support across NOCO's Commercial Energy division including but not limited to HVAC, EV Charging, Battery/Energy Storage Systems, Generator, and Solar. Employees at this level perform trade-specific installation, service, and repair tasks with limited supervision. They apply technical knowledge to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency while assisting with advanced diagnostics and commissioning under the direction of a foreman.

Requirements

  • EPA, NATE, Electrical license or OSHA 10 certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency with hand/power tools, meters, lifts, and diagnostic instruments.
  • Foundational knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or photovoltaic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and specifications.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. and perform physical labor for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be willing to work outdoors in challenging or poor weather conditions while maintaining a positive, productive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems for HVAC, Lighting, Generator, and Solar projects according to company and code standards.
  • Perform intermediate diagnostics, including testing voltages, continuity, airflow, and system performance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to complete installations accurately.
  • Assemble, mount, and wire equipment components (motors, panels, lighting fixtures, conduit, inverters, etc.).
  • Perform system start-up and assist in equipment commissioning and verification tests.
  • Safely operate lifts, testing tools, and electrical/mechanical equipment.
  • Identify and report system issues, providing recommendations to the foreman or project manager.
  • Ensure all work areas and vehicles are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Mentor Level 4 General Laborers on tool use, field safety, and project support.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate project updates with supervisors.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements; report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
  • This position requires participation in an on-call rotation. Employees must be available to respond to after-hours service needs as scheduled.
