The position involves maintaining an existing customer base by servicing customer needs that include mounting, dismounting, balancing and repairs on site and off site for customers.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Valid Driver's License and Insurable Driving Record (Required).
  • TIA training requirement.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to meet DOT driving requirements.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and diagnose service and tire problems for customer vehicles.
  • Communicate necessary repairs and/or replacement of parts, recommend additional preventative services and help sell services to the customer, if warranted.
  • Provide excellent customer service to existing accounts by staying in touch, immediate follow-up and resolving issues.
  • Complete service orders; process tickets, invoices and bill out customers, verify credit status of customer, make billing adjustments, initiate purchase orders for parts, assist with updating information on the computer and maintain records/files for follow-up.
  • Operate air compressor, impact gun, hub-cap hammer and other various machines and tools.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and mechanical maintenance, and ensure vehicle registration, insurance, safety and OSHA materials and devices are up-to-date.
  • Submit fuel receipts to accounting to process.
  • Perform tire work (retail and/or commercial, on and off site).
  • Mount and dismount tires, perform air pressure checks and repairs (fleet checks).
  • Ensure lug nuts are tightened to the proper torque specifications.
  • Perform fleet inspections and properly document.
  • Support company safety and operational standards and adhere to all requirements, including driving requirements.
  • Complete all necessary training including TIA training and other requirements.
  • Demonstrate Commercial Tire Technician requirements.
  • Demonstrate how to write up castings for retreads or scrap.
  • Check a bar code and explain the screen.
  • Acquire all pictures/documents required by accounts.
  • Follow proper procedures for a service call on the side of the road (cones, flashers, parking, etc.).
  • Have a basic understanding of matching tires/where and why to install.
  • Mentor a Commercial Tire Tech.
