About The Position

The Security Systems Technician should be proficient in either or both Installation or Service. This role involves the installation, programming, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and programming of access control panels, door position switches, various types of card readers, sensors, analog and IP cameras, VMS systems, intercoms, anti-tailgating devices, electrified door hardware, and the termination of electrical and data wiring.

Requirements

  • Actively working with security systems, including IP cameras, access control devices, electrified door hardware, video management and recording appliances, intercoms, low-voltage systems, and other various security equipment.
  • Experience in 1 or more systems including; Software house, Lenel, Salient, Genetec, Avigilon/Motorola, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining security systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
  • Conducting system inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance to identify and resolve potential issues before they escalate.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrified door hardware, ensuring seamless integration with security systems.
  • Utilizing hand tools and power tools to service and replace equipment following relevant codes and manufacturer specifications.
  • Diagnosing, testing, and repairing circuits, sensors, and components following wiring and system specifications.
  • Installing, testing, and replacing backup batteries, programming keypads, troubleshooting sirens, and verifying proper system operation.
  • Providing technical support to clients, assisting with system operation, user training, and troubleshooting guidance.
