About The Position

As a Commercial Sales Manager , you are responsible for the leadership and supervisory oversight of the Commercial Sales Team, including direct supervision of commercial sales reps, projecting goals, and achieving sales objectives across the Columbia MD and DC Metro Area. You'll partner with the General Manager and operations team to support a complete customer experience while developing your team to perform at their best. This role is field-first. After an onboarding period, you can expect to spend about 80% of your time in the field alongside your team, with the remaining 20% in-office. When the opportunity presents itself, you lead by example and close sales.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years of sales management experience required
  • 5 years of outside sales experience required
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to travel the territory

  • commercial B2B (business-to-business) environment preferred
  • commercial B2B preferred
  • Background in security, home automation, telecom, or a related industry strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team to hit goals and grow in their roles

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of commercial sales representatives ranging from new to tenured professionals
  • Ride along with reps to joint sales calls to mentor, troubleshoot complex deals, and grow each team member to their full potential
  • Manage rep activity, pipelines, and performance to ensure clear understanding of objectives and consistent progress towards goals
  • Drive market penetration and territory development through strategic planning and long-range commercial goal setting
  • Create and execute marketing and sales initiatives, including business development plans that expand the pipeline
  • Review and approve proposals; ensure they are delivered to customers and prospects in a way that maximizes profitability
  • Conduct onsite sales presentations with the team when needed
  • Analyze and report on pricing, sales activity, and productivity; report results and forecasts to branch and home office leadership
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop new commercial sales representatives
  • Maintain alignment and communication between Sales, Installation, and Service departments
